To continue our “on the road” feature week, finding travel and vacations eats around Colorado, I have something tasty from Poudre Canyon for you.
Last week I did a late afternoon hike at Zimmerman Lake with Andrea at Cheers Fort Collins, Jen Bond, and Mallory, one of my Cohere cohorts. We had a great time trudging through a snowpack covered trail, even seeing a large moose near the trailhead.
After finishing our hike (late), we drove back down the canyon for our FoCo TweetUp at the Mish to bid Coloraodan’s Paul Berry an epic Fort Collins farewell. Thanks to the snow that we weren’t really expecting, it took us a lot longer to finish and everyone started to wonder when to call search and rescue. But let me tell you – a beer and a meal by the river at the Mish is the perfect way to top off a hike like that.
I ordered my favorite standard hiking beer – Odell IPA, and the fish taco wrap with mango salsa and a side of onion rings. Those onion rings taste like heaven after a hike! The Mish is a great place for some mountain music, but it’s also a fantastic stop before or after some canyon exploration. Because of that, they make today’s Eat Of The Week!
