Eat Of The Week

Roasted Chicken

A few weeks ago I went out for dinner and drinks with some friends for a Ladies Night Out. We started our evening at Austin’s in Old Town where we sat at the bar for a moment while waiting for a table. We were lucky enough to be seated at the large table in the corner right by the window facing the intersection of College and Mountain. That’s some prime people watching space! We chatted as we watched horse-drawn carriages ride by, people in costume (for no apparent reason whatsoever), and couples strolling down the street hand-in-hand. It was highly entertaining.

While Fort Collins was keeping itself weird outside, I ordered the rotisserie chicken with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and Austin’s slaw.

I actually eat rotisserie chicken all the time at home (thanks Sunflower!) but there’s an extra special level of awesome that comes from Austin’s chicken. I never, ever order chicken at restaurants, so the fact that I ordered this speaks volumes to the taste. And? I’m infatuated with the Austin’s slaw. It’s sweet and crunchy and could be the best in town.

Because this may be the only chicken dish I will ever order in Fort Collins, Austin’s makes today’s “Eat Of The Week!”

I always order that at Austin’s! Love the chicken and mashed potatoes! But not the slaw so much…but I don’t ever like slaw.

I agree that they have the best chicken in town. I also never order chicken at restaurants. However I have to disagree about the slaw. I’ve never liked theirs (don’t hate me, but my favorite slaw is still from KFC). I usually switch the slaw for their brown rice and quinoa pilaf instead.

Have you had the slaw from Choice City? It is lemon dill and the only one I have thus far in life that I like. Yum
