Sometimes the balance between reviewing restaurants and just going out for a family dinner can be a tricky. My family gets dragged along to many dining adventures – some good, and some downright horrible. They’re troopers and stick with me through thick and thin without complaint.
But sometimes we just want to eat a dinner together.
After getting home from Cohere, we were all starving and the Husband and I didn’t want to cook. We weren’t up for a whole review experience, either. So, we packed up the family and drove over to DP Dough – a place we would usually order take-out from.
The kids colored on the chalkboard walls in the back – even with the inappropriate messages left by CSU students, which made me laugh and just erase words and random letters here and there. We sat by the large screen TV and watched America’s Funniest Home Videos (this is STILL on??), laughing at cat videos and people getting smacked in the junk by toddlers with base ball bats.
And of course, we ate gigantic calzone’s with the stringiest cheese and warm chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven.
It was a great family dinner. No fuss, no work – just eating and laughing with each other. It was fun and delicious and because of that, they make today’s “Eat Of The Week.”
