Eat Of The Week

Roast Beef Sandwich

Things look a little different, don’t they!

I’m a minimalist, especially when it comes to design. When people come over to the house, one of the first things they say is, “Oh! When did you move in? I didn’t know you recently moved here.”

We didn’t. We’ve been in this house for five years, but with the few select portraits on the walls and some essential seating, it looks like we’re just getting ready to decorate. The blog theme designs have been the same way for the last four years. It was time to spruce it up a bit.

I sat down one night at Cohere to teach myself some basic CSS to change things up. After getting nowhere fast and taking up way too much of my time, I declared that I was CSS stupid and needed help. I turned to my coworker Kevin, who also works at Nerdy Mind Marketing, and asked for help.

Next thing I know, we’re both sitting in his office yesterday plowing through style sheet changes on all of the TWELVE blogs in The Scoop Blog Network. He’s grabbing HEX codes and flying through the CSS changes at lighting speed. It takes FOREVER since it was a whole lot of work. Lunch time comes around and we’re still eyeballs deep in work. We couldn’t quit – we had to keep going. (I don’t think I’d let us quit. I was being the blog Nazi). But, we were also going to resort to cannibalism if we didn’t get some food and fast.

Kevin suggested ordering from Jimmy John’s since they were so quick. I went online, placed our order, paid (even with the option to include the tip online!) and we waited. A short moment later, our sandwiches were there, delivered by a frozen guy who rode his delivery bike IN THE SNOW. It was a snow day for PSD, but not the delivery guy for Jimmy John’s! He was hardcore and fast.

I thanked him and basically ran back into Kevin’s office to inhale lunch while we continued to work. I hope I didn’t seem rude.

In the end, that sandwich made it possible for us to keep our noses to the grindstone and complete the project. Now thanks to Kevin, we have a spiffy new look around here.

HUGE thank you to Nerdy Mind Marketing for adding a little pizazz to The Scoop Blog Network blogs and a big thanks to Jimmy John’s for braving the snow and keeping us fed.

This was the ultimate Eat Of The Week!!
